How to Use Instagram Reels.
On my personal Instagram, I noticed that Reels outperform standard posts. More comments, likes, and views. Up to 75% of those views are from non-followers.
I wrote about making data-driven decisions in The Way of Discipline. So Instagram Reels take priority over my traditional content, whether I like it or not.
It's simple. Here's the tactic:
Make Instagram Reels Viral.
I can’t force it to happen, no one can. So I'll focus on making daily Instagram Reels. More Reels means more chances to go viral.
REELS can use trending audio. When you use TRENDING audio, others are more likely to see your content. I’ll adapt what works, making it make sense for my niche. My brand is apparel, so I can probably just do whatever trend while wearing my own gear. Or use free B-roll footage of my niche, and throw it up to trending audio. I’ll use captions, and make sure the captions are placed where they should be.
Stories.
Instagram Stories get a lot of views. These vanish too, so my Reels (or clips of them?) can be used as stories for extra engagement.
Repurpose.
The same video file for the Instagram Reels can be turned into TikToks and Facebook Reels. This might not be the best practice, but it's extra views for low effort. When you’re a one-man army, efficiency is underrated.
Schedule Posts.
My regular Facebook and Instagram posts will be scheduled out using the Facebook Business Manager, whenever I get time. I'm not focusing too much on this, no one really sees these anyway.
That’s it.
It's september 28th, 2023. I'm following up with you guys in exactly one week. In the meantime, here's your homework:
Define your brand’s audience in 3 words. You’re competing for their attention. What would make them stop scrolling? Are you meeting their need and providing content like that?
See you in a week.
